Supplier Quality Engineer

Your role: Investigate, analyze and resolve supplier quality problems such as corrective and preventive actions, root cause analysis, supplier complaint development, supplier audits and continuous improvement projects.

Job summary:

• Work to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply;
• Develop long‐term supplier relationships and generate and implement cost reduction ideas;
• Travel to supplier locations for audits, validations, samplings, analysis and other quality problems;
• Work with Purchasing to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and that appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented;
• Maintain and update Supplier Complaint data base;
• Establish specific short / long term supplier quality goals;
• Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers to eliminate recurrence of non‐conformities;
• Support the R&D team in the evaluation and qualification of new supplier materials following a defined new product development process;
• Strategically lead supplier performance improvement projects to increase the supplier capability. Projects may include process analysis, 5S and Kaizen events.

Requirements:

• Engineers degree and/or training in manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
• Knowledge of various quality system methodologies 8D, Lean, 5 Why’s, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, 8-D, DFMEA, PFEMA, PPAP, etc. are preferred;
• Good English level;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Computer skills using Microsoft Office applications, SAP knowledge is a plus;
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills;
• Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel.
