Functional Objectives:
- Accurate Record Keeping: Maintain precise and up-to-date records in the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are correctly accounted for.
- Financial Reporting Support: Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, contributing to the overall financial reporting process.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure all general ledger activities comply with relevant accounting standards and internal policies.
- Reconciliation and Analysis: Conduct thorough account reconciliations and analysis to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Transaction Recording: Record financial transactions in the general ledger, including journal entries, adjustments, and accruals.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of ledger accounts, including bank accounts, and resolve any discrepancies.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly and annual financial statements and reports.
- Variance Analysis: Analyze variances between actual financial results and budgets/forecasts, explaining significant differences.
- Internal Control Compliance: Adhere to internal controls and procedures to maintain accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
- Audit Support: Provide support during internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with other accounting and finance team members, such as AP, AR, and tax specialists, to ensure comprehensive financial management.
- Continuous Improvement: Suggest improvements to processes and systems to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the general ledger function.
Requirements:
Education: University degree in Economics, Finance or Accounting.
Professional skills: relevant experience in General Ledger area, Microsoft office advanced (especially Excel), Safe handling of accounting processes in SAP FI, German language skills or willingness to learn German.
Personality: High communication skills and strong team spirit. Positive attitude to work as a business service partner. Willingness to work in an international environment.
