In 2019 we opened an office in Cluj-Napoca, Romania for which we are looking for young graduates willing to stay connected to scientific research by helping researchers worldwide publish their latest results. You would start out as an Editorial Trainee working in close collaboration with our Managing Editors based in other countries, learning how to process papers properly from submission to publication. Also, as part of the traineeship you will be required to go to one of our offices in China and work under the supervision of a tutor for one up to three months. Once you have successfully completed your six-month traineeship you will be appointed as Assistant Editor in Romania (Cluj-Napoca).
You should share our passion for spreading the newly acquired knowledge of today’s scientific community and feel motivated to contribute to open access publishing. No previous experience is required, since you will be trained on this type of work.
Depending on your scientific background you will be assigned to work on journals related to your field. We are mostly looking for Editors educated in Medicine, Chemistry, Biochemistry Biology, Hydrology, Geodesy, Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering, Material Engineering, Metallurgy, Physics, Energy, Thermal and Power Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Marine Engineering, Remote Sensing, Geographic Information Science, Spatial planning, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Climate, Ecology, Agriculture, Land Resource Management, Landscape Ecology, Natural Resources and Environmental Management, Landscape Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning, Atmospheric science, Public Health, Animal science, and similar.
Execute editorial work for journals within your area of expertise, including organizing the review process for manuscripts, overseeing editorial decisions and handling the communication between the parties involved in the publication process.
· Bachelor, Master or PhD degree
· Knowledge of MS office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
· Strong English skills in written and spoken language
· Ability to multi-task, attention to detail
· Experience with scholarly publishing would be beneficial
· Romanian work permit
