Material Sourcing Specialist

Job Description

The Material Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for working with the suppliers for getting the best commercial conditions. This position will be directly responsible for pricing implementation, generating competitive analyses, strengthening overall margin, and lead day-to-day material sourcing activities for new business opportunities.

Position Responsibilities

·         Review customer data pack information to ensure all material specifications are in place;

·         Build the Product Bill of Materials structure, Make vs Buy analysis, raw material commodity and prepare for sending to suppliers;

·         Development of Request for Quotes on various projects by the Regional Quote Center;

·         Taking the products’ Bills of Material and creating a complete and professional Costed Bill of Materials, by using both Benchmark internal quote platforms and usual communication channels;

·         Obtaining quotations from supply chain for non-negotiated/non-established component & material pricing;

·         Review suppliers’ commercial proposals and negotiate to obtain agreement on pricing, quantities and other terms;

·         Creating a complete and professional Costed Bill of Materials, with the purpose of winning the business;

·         Develop appropriate business relationships with key suppliers/sources;

·         Monitor, evaluate and coordinate supplier scorecard activities and facilitate business reviews;

·         Optimize company sales and profit objectives through effective pricing management.

    Position Requirements

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field required, or combination of education and experience;

·         Minimum of 2 years of experience in a business, technical, quotations, or related role;

·         Proven ability to analyze various sources of information and familiarity with material cost modeling and margin analysis;

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills, with co-employees, suppliers and customers;

·         Proven ability to complete projects in a timely manner;

·         Must be very detail oriented and be able to efficiently organize information;

·         Ability to work effectively in fast paced and time sensitive environment.
