Infrastructure Engineer (Wintel)

Main requirements:

• Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and clearly to both IT and business staff;

• Advanced English language skill – very good verbal and written skills; 
• Identify the work required and organise, facilitate and / or perform the work with only limited guidance from line management; 
• Good analytical skills, structured and methodical approach; 
• Highly organised, with the ability to plan ahead for short to medium term objectives; 
• Commitment to Quality Standards and continuous improvement; 
• General networking knowledge; 
• Willing to be constantly up to date with technology standards – Self-study.

Preferred skills:

• Advanced technical knowledge of MS Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019 as well as their roles and features; 

Working experience with:

• Citrix XenDesktop 7.x;
• Virtualization (VMware 6.x, 7.x & Hyper-V)
• McAfee products and other AV solutions
• MS VPN solutions 

• Advanced technical knowledge of MS Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019 as well as their roles and features; 
• Good technical knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Lync 2013; 
• Proficient understanding of hardware troubleshooting 
• Knowledge and experience working with SharePoint;
• Strong knowledge of the ITIL processes.

Job description

Primary responsibilities:

• Adherence to SCC processes and procedures; 

• To deal with customer requests/incidents in line with Service definitions and SLA’s; 
• Undertake personal training and development in line with departmental needs and in line with Personal Development Plan agreed with Line Manager;
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of industry standards relevant to the role;
• Review and update SCC’s internal knowledge base;
• Ownership of support calls within the Event Management Tool;
• Providing regular updates to both the customers and internal teams within SCC.
• Management of information relating to customer incidents or service requests and the effective communication of progress of such events to all stakeholders;
• Suggesting and providing IT solutions to business and management problems;Prove attention to details in recording and classifying all incoming technical incidents.
