Service Engineer for Service Department, Frederikshavn, Denmark

ME Production, Frederikshavn, Denmark, is looking for a Service Engineer for our Gear Service department to support our marine gear systems.

ME Production A/S is located in Frederikshavn, Denmark, where we develop, produce, sell, and service marine gears. As a system provider of marine gear, ME Production possesses the entire value chain – from production to service. In addition, the company operates a SOX scrubber business unit and has several exciting maritime development projects underway.

We are currently experiencing significant growth in our Service and Sales department for marine gears, and we require a Service Engineer to support on service tasks in our gear service department. Between service jobs you may also participate in building new gear boxes in our workshop.

As you start your new job, you will undergo a hands-on training programme. The training programme will take place at shipyards where installations are carried out or at one of our many planned service visits around the world. During the training programme, you will acquire valuable knowledge of our marine gear systems, and therefore it is important that you are willing to travel, as this will equip you to support our customers effectively afterwards. ME Production will also provide a thorough on-boarding programme, where you will learn about all aspects of the company.

What can you expect?

You will be part of a dedicated and competent service team, and you can expect a fast-paced work life where no two days will be the same.

Your job will typically be located at a shipyard or take place along a quay, where installation, commissioning, and servicing of the gear are just a few of the many tasks that we handle for shipping companies. Many things will be going on at once, and it is important that you can maintain focus. You need to be able to work under pressure and to concentrate on your work even when there are a lot going on around you. 

You will be working closely with customer representatives from small to medium-sized shipping companies, and an important part of your job is to ensure that they get a first-class installation and service experience.

We expect you to be proficient in using the Office package, as a significant part of our value proposition lies in providing comprehensive and analytical service reports, delivered on time to our customers.

Your competencies:

You can expect a varied workday with many different and exciting tasks and a high degree of interdisciplinary collaboration. It is a requirement that you are fluent in English, and we prefer if you have experience with some of the following:

• Installation and commissioning of marine gears or other types of mechanical equipment.
• You can read, understand and work according to technical manuals and set up various components in the system.
• Testing of the system before shipment may occur.
• Conducting construction meetings with the shipyard and shipping company.
• Reporting is carried out according to the ME Production service template to ensure a uniform customer experience.
