System Simulation Engineer for Innovation Department

Job description: 

• Developing or extending simulation models and performing simulations for HEV and/or EV powertrain systems for different scopes (optimization of efficiency/performance/cost, check fulfillment of vehicle boundary conditions and/or customer requirements etc.); 

• Performing simulations to design an electric powertrain in consideration of a variety of requirements depending on use case, vehicle boundary condition and customer specification; 

• Interpreting of simulation results to: 

  • verify system behavior and functionality in early development process and to propose system improvements; 

  • identify patterns between system designs and results; 

  • propose new functions for improvement of system performance/efficiency/cost/behavior. 

• Development of system functions considering customer and safety requirements by using measurement and simulation data;  

• Evaluation of case studies, functional structures and interaction of separate system functions, guarantee of correct interaction and functionality of powertrain components, identification and description of internal and external interfaces; 

• Verification of system requirements in accordance with customer and supplier as well as internal and / or external departments by considering functionality, quality, reliability, life time consideration and production aspects;  

• System integration and failure analysis support; 

• Running and adapting of post-processing routines; 

• Coordination of required measurements to validate simulation model;  

• Technical quote support;  

• Documentation and presentation of simulation results. 

Job requirements: 

• University degree (technical profile: Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science or comparable: Physics, Math); 

• Very good skills in Math and Physics; 

• Very good analytical reasoning, problem solving skills and ability to understand complex systems; 

• Good skills in Matlab/Simulink modelling; 

• Good skills in one programming language (best option Matlab); 

• Experience in system simulation of HEV and EV systems consisting of inverter and electrical machine would be a plus; 

• Fluent English speaking and writing skills; 

• Good communication, documentation and presentation skills; 

• Passion for working in an international team.
