Global Trade Compliant Analyst

We are hiring a Global Trade compliance Analyst to ensure that Steelcase, it’s affiliates and suppliers are globally compliant with import/export customs regulations related to shipment of parts, products, tooling, equipment, marketing materials, etc.  

What You Will Be Doing:

• Analyze regulatory data (ie, Free Trade Agreements (FTA), Governmental references, and other compliance documentation) to ensure that shipments abide with import/export regulations, minimize exposure to customs audits and maximize savings in import/export duties and other fees.  
• Stay abreast of global trade regulations. 
• Provide technical support and advice on global trade compliance requirements that are new, changed.  
• Recommend corrective action on issues where compliance requirements are not met. 
• Ensure that appropriate database systems are in place and up to date to support import/export shipments and processes.

You will be part of an international team and you will report to the Leader of Global Trade Compliance – EMEA.

Who You Are: 

Required Skills and Competencies 

• Bachelors Degree in Business, Logistics, or Accounting/Finance
• Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills under complex business and technical conditions
• Attention to detail
• Excellent communications skills to consult on import/export customs compliance
• English advanced level

Preferred Skills and Competencies

• Knowledge of global laws and regulations applicable industry imports/exports
• Knowledge of Steelcase organization, products, business processes and systems
• Ability to read engineering prints
• Supply Chain Management Degree or certification desired
• Minimum three years work experience in import/export compliance and/or international logistics
