Proposal Engineer

As the Project Proposal Engineer in Cluj-Napoca, you will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of Technical & Commercial Project Proposals to our customers in Europe across various process industries (such as Life Sciences, Chemical, Energy, Power and Renewables) within automation projects business portfolio and support Emerson sales teams in the pursuit of new business opportunities. This role requires the proposal delivery management of a broad variety of projects ranging from small-size to large and/or complex ones, assuming ownership of the full-scope, or sub-scope, when working under leadership of Proposal Lead / Manager, including sales & operations stakeholders’ coordination and direct customer contact, with the focus on winning more orders for the company. As a key point of contact, you will build and maintain positive relationships with Sales Account Managers and Operations teams across Europe.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Ensuring understanding, handling and satisfying each requirement or expectation from customers or company’s collaborators through remote communication or site visits;
• Taking full ownership of the delivery of the assigned technical and commercial project proposals scope, or sub-scope of large size and/or complex project proposals led by Proposal Manager or Lead, following the standard process;
• For independent delivery of project proposals, acting as Solution Architect applying technical expertise for the concept design development of Emerson solution, fulfilling customers’ requirements;
• Ensuring the innovative and efficient solutions are proposed;
• proactively applying methodologies, resources and techniques for minimizing the proposal preparation effort, whilst maintaining the requisite schedule and quality;
• Ensuring collaborators are proactively informed on the status or any challenges;
• acquiring, maintaining, and actively sharing knowledge and experience with the team and the more comprehensive organization;
• Supporting on-the-job development of other Project Proposal Engineers;
• Taking other responsibilities or tasks, including those related to Ethics and Information Security policies within the skills and abilities, whenever reasonably instructed. The business reserves the right to make reasonable adjustments in line with business requirements.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering field
• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience
• Understanding of process automation, instrumentation and/or rotating equipment, vibration analysis, computer infrastructure and network architecture;
• Computer literate (MS Office)
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal)

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

• Experience in commercial and sales support activities
• Experience in process automation field for various industries
• Project management / coordination skills
• Any other european language would be nice to have, but not mandatory
