System Engineer

Job Description:

• You will define   Technical Safety Concept (TSC) for products developed by Vitesco Automotive;
• You will be the main technical contributor for the design of the safety solution in platform as well as customer projects;
• You will contribute to the System, HW and SW architecture   by creation of a safety view and define safety requirements at system and sub-system level.   Your knowledge of global OEM requirements together with your technical expertise of safety mechanism will allow you to propose efficient and innovative safety solutions;
• You will support the qualitative safety analysis and the functional safety testing activities;
• You will support the Project Functional Safety Managers (PFSM) and the Application Safety   Engineers in the re-use of generic TSC and its adaptation of the generic solution  to specific customer requests;
• You will develop your deliverables in compliance with ISO26262 standard and support PFSM during audits;
• You will be the main contact person for System Architects in case of major system architecture changes  to ensure alignment between architectural design and safety requirements;
• You will support the PFSM    in customer communication with respect to safety relevant topics related to your product scope.

Job Requirements:

• Master’s degree in system engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, mechatronics or sciences;
• Several years of work experience with functional safety according to ISO 26262, preferably in the eMobility business;
• Knowledge  with analytical methods such as FMEA, FMEDA and FTA;
• Experience with embedded systems for automotive applications, desirable for powertrain components;
• Previous experience has System and/or Software and/or Electronic Engineer;
• Strong experience in specification of functional requirements according to requirements engineering methods and using requirements management tools (DOORS, Polarion, );   
• Strong analytical thinking, problem solving capability;
• Knowledge of Automotive SPICE;
• Fluent English in speaking and writing (other language might be added depending upon location);
• Independent and goal-oriented way of working, strong communication skill and discussion moderation techniques
