As a full time Software Test Engineer in our Software Test Automation team, your responsibilities will be to validate the software and system functionalities of our automotive products (controllers for electric and hybrid components, electric or combustion engine controllers), according to the specific requirements or specifications by defining, developing, adapting and/or using manual or automated tests within a predefined project plan considering processes, procedures and testing quality standards.

• Areas of team activity: software requirements testing for automotive electronic control units, HIL testing, test automation (in detail bellow, section "would be a plus").

 

 

As a Software Test Engineer in our Software Test Automation team you will do plenty of:

 

• Designing, reviewing and maintaining test specifications for the software functionalities in an automotive project (hybrid or electric component controller or combustion engine controller, battery management, inverter, DC/DC converter or engine controller).

• Performing tests and ensuring traceability according to given requirements and specifications.

• Technical analysis (e.g. red alerts) of critical problems in area of expertise.

• Automation of manual tests using internal tools or programming languages.

• Setting the test environment components according to the project needs.

• Ensuring the testing equipment availability for the test team, including the test equipment for test automation; participate in developing the test environment.

• Verifying test results and creating reports, provide feedback and inputs related to the test results to other disciplines or customer.

• Collaborates with project team, other test specialists for defining, improving and synchronizing test tools, technologies and strategies between test teams.

• Contributes to the improvement of processes in test area, test concepts and implementing new test technologies.

• Might perform Software Test Management activities within projects: define test strategies, plan, execute and release test activities, track and monitor test activities, report test statuses.

• A mentor will support you to stepwise take over own responsibility after an initial training phase which will familiarize you with our products, tools, processes and organization.

 

 

As a Software Test Engineer in our Software Test Automation team you will bring with you:

 

• University degree in electronical/electric/software engineering or comparable qualification (technical profile: Electronics and Communication, Automation and Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics).

• Programming (e.g. C, C++, OOP, Python, etc) and microcontrollers knowledge.

• Electronics knowledge.

• Matlab Simulink knowledge.

• Basic usage of instrumentation for measurement and control (e.g. oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters).

• Good English language skills (written and spoken); good communication and presentation skills; passion for work in an international team.

• Good analytical reasoning, problem solving oriented, ability to understand complex systems, initiative, dedication, attention to detail; good planning and organizing abilities.

• Self-motivated, able to work both independently and in a team environment.

Would be a plus:

• Experience in embedded software/system testing in automotive R&D;

• Experience in software test levels (test techniques, methods, levels, ISTQB, etc);

• Experience in specifications / requirements analysis and management (eg. using tools like DOORS, JIRA, MKS);

• Experience with Automotive testing tools and Software (e.g. INCA, Lauterbach, CANalyzer, CANape, DSPACE simulators / ControlDesk, Matlab Simulink, etc) and with Automotive standards and communication protocols (CAN / FlexRay /Ethernet);

• Experience with programming languages such as Python, C/C++, CAPL, etc;

• Experience in Project Management methodology, Time Management, Change Management and Product Life Cycle;

• Knowledge of Safety critical systems design techniques and methods (e.g. ISO 26262);
