Senior System Administrator

The Senior System Administrator provides advanced technical support for Linux systems, Windows and the infrastructure that hosts them (Storage, Backup, Virtualization, Cloud IaaS) and develops IT systems in interdisciplinary projects to guarantee high-quality services. The scope of this position includes mission critical support at the enterprise level for Linux and Windows server, located in global, regional datacenters and cloud and technical mentorship for all team members.

Basic Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support and documentation for Linux and Windows servers– both physical and virtual (Linux containers, VMware servers) and the infrastructure that hosts them (Dell & Supermicro hardware, SAN & NAS Storage arrays, Commvault backup platform). Also, managing VMs residing on Private Cloud like Azure, Oracle Cloud etc and maintain Linux Server and Windows operating systems and all components/services including Authentication, DNS, File Systems, DHCP, sFTP, TCP/IP and others.
• Perform daily systems monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, system, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs and verifying completion of scheduled jobs as well as assist in working with vendors and datacenter technicians for installing/troubleshooting/replacing hardware as necessary.
• Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
• Responsible for maintaining and deploying security patches to the server environment by following standard patching methodology.
• Work with other IT groups, business leads, consultants, and other stakeholders to develop, test, and maintain procedures for Disaster Recovery (DR). Maintain technical DR readiness and participate in DR related meetings.
• Perform periodical capacity audits on supported platforms and infrastructure to ensure compliance and adequate usage. Present the findings in the capacity meetings.

Education and Experience:

• Completed degree in computer science or comparable qualification.
• 5+ years of system administration experience in Windows and Linux (RHEL, Oracle) environments.
• Good knowledge on scripting languages (Bash, Perl, Python, PowerShell) and virtualization technologies (Linux containers, VMware ESX).
• Experience on working with server related technologies (e.g., RAID arrays, LVM, SAN, NAS).
• Must have customer service orientation and written and verbal communication skills (English).
