Job
Title: Automation Software Engineer
Location: Buttrio (Italy),
Cluj-Napoca (Romania)
Responsibilities:
Design
and testing of Level 1 software for machinery and process control of metal
working plants in compliance with company standards and contractual
requirements (functions and performance).
Main
Tasks:
- Development of SW applications for PLC and HMI for the control of
machines, process and related technical documentation. Development
starts from standard solutions or similar projects which are customized
according to the plant’s specific requirements.
Main
Project Phases:
- Drawing up of plant machine and process functional specifications;
- Drawing up of basic documentation for SW development, definition of
the documentation describing interfaces with the automation systems of
third parties present in the plant;
- Development of PLC and HMI SW by using the development tools;
- Drawing up of the operator manual;
- Testing of the project carried out by means of the integrated
simulation, checking its conformity with the required functions and
performance;
- Project commissioning.

Interfaces:
Internal
- Own work team and technical office manager;
- Technical offices in charge of the definition of electrical and
network schematics;
- Offices for the job order’s administrative management.
External
- Mechanical designers;
- Product line process engineers and customer’s process engineers;
- Research centre.
Technical
Requirements:
- University degree in technical disciplines (electronic engineering,
electrical engineering, information technology, automatic controls) is
required;
- A good knowledge of the fundamental algorithmic techniques and data
structures to solve computational problems is required;
- Good reading and understanding of the industrial engineering
documentation (e.g. electrical diagrams, network diagrams, single-line
diagrams, process flow diagrams and P&ID) is required;
- The knowledge of the hardware and software design issues of industrial
automation systems is a preferential requirement, with special regard to
those based on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs);
- Experience with development under Siemens S7/TIA Portal and/or
Rockwell Studio 5000 is a preferential requirement;
- Experience with Siemens S7-1500 and Rockwell Controllogix PLC
architectures is a preferential requirement;
- Knowledge of/experience with development under SCADA Wonderware
Intouch and/or Siemens WinCC is a preferential requirement;
- Good command of the English language.
