Subject Matter Expert , Restricted Products

The Restricted Products teams ensure that Amazon transactions satisfy legal and safety requirements. We coordinate the aspects of product transactions that are regulated (distribution, shipping, sale, and import/export). This involves analyzing product import documentation and flagging hazardous risks. We are also responsible for keeping Amazon customers safe and informed by coordinating actions around product safety recalls. These actions include removing recalled/restricted products from the site and from our warehouses, and contacting customers with pertinent safety information..

Key job responsibilities
Amazon is looking for a talented PICCCE Subject Matter Expert to support its rapidly growing and evolving businesses. You will support the business by working with colleagues who will support several initiatives within PICCCE program.
You will work directly with Amazon Operations, Retail teams and a variety of global internal businesses and outside vendors to protect customers from recalled or unsafe products. The role is within the Product Compliance team that ensures the safety of the products sold on Amazon based on internal policies and safety regulations in the targeted marketplace(s).
Your job responsibilities as a RP SME may include:

• Proactive monitoring of internal and external data sources to identify, investigate and action potentially unsafe products;
• Providing automated and scalable solutions;
• Serving as designated specialist within the RP program, acting as a point of contact and process expert for other colleagues;
• Coordinating and implementing particular areas of the RP Program in collaboration with internal partners;
• Working with Amazon’s WW RP team to execute strategy, seek automation opportunities and leverage technologies;
• Communicating professionally with internal and external partners (operations, technical and program teams) throughout the Product Safety process
• Partnering with key stakeholders to define, identify and influence the development of new initiatives within the RP Program;
• Creating best practices by putting forth improvement ideas;
• Working with Amazon’s internal technology teams to support the development of creative and best-in-class compliance business processes that can scale up;
• Leveraging data to continuously improve RP at Amazon

Key Performance Areas:

• Support in design, implementation, and tracking RP initiatives program path;
• Management of quality standards of the RP processes;
• Mentor, guide and deliver trainings to operational teams to manage quality, improve process efficiency and minimize variation.
• Driving and supporting innovation leading to increase in process efficiency and KPI improvements
• Conducting controlled experiments/sprints and providing data justifying proposed solutions within competencies of RP program;
• Leading new solutions implementations (tools, process changes) and managing related risks within acceptable levels

A day in the life
Takes part in team initiatives/ projects as part of a project team;
Prioritizes work as per guidelines and in accordance with business requirements.
Build/drive or launch new projects within the team;
Liaison with SME s from other nodes in driving and collaborating on different initiatives;

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Completed Bachelor’s degree;
Excellent command of English, spoken and written;
+1 years of experience from a similar role or providing SME support;
+3 years of overall work experience;
Good working knowledge of MS Office, especially MS Outlook, MS Excel and MS Word;
Proven record of strong attention to detail and analytical ability.
Experience in structuring, providing content and conducting training programs for individuals and operations Teams
Able to work in an ambiguous, dynamic & ‘internet-speed’ environment with tight deadlines;
Have an absolute passion for ensuring a great Customer experience;
Possess exceptional skills in data manipulation and analysis;
Exceptional problem solving & analytical skills;
Be a self-starter;
Attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously;
Experience in business process improvement.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Good working knowledge of MS Office; MS Outlook, and MS Excel proficiency is an advantage;
· Knowledge and experience in consumer product safety regulations and/or regulatory compliance management with government agencies
· Knowledge of basic SQL.
