Health & Safety Specialist

Our Health & Safety Specialist manages and directs HS functions such as: occupational health, claims management, industrial hygiene, safety, hazardous materials and ergonomics. Ensures compliance with applicable government HS regulations. Develops new programs to meet new/revised regulations. Collaborates at all levels in site planning, including reviewing proposed and existing processes and equipment and making recommendations. Performs periodic reviews of HS programs and initiatives to identify and control risks. Ensures compliance to ISO 18001:2007 – Occpational Safety Management System Standards. Responsible for the design, deployment, implementation and support of Celestica’s H&S Management. Works with all Celestica Corporate and Celestica sites HS staffs to meet it’s H&S objectives and to develop implementation schedules and ongoing support plans and provides support and leadership through completion of the plan.


  • University degree 
  • English knowledge
  • Risk Evaluation certificate
  • Minimum 3 years work experience on H&S topics
  • Knowledge of Industrial hygiene, Health and Safety programs and regulations including ISO 18001.
  • Knowledge of H&S standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to evaluate, diagnose and troubleshoot problems.
  • Strong knowlegde of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to evaluate from H&S perspective the equipments and manufacturing processes


  • organizing the prevention and protection activity,
  • promoting a positive culture of health and safety,
  • establishing safety and health signals,
  • training of personnel on safety and health issues at work, and periodic verification of h&S files
  • providing individual protective equipment,
  • preventing accidents at work and maintaining the health status of the personnel,
  • investigating the causes of occupational accidents and occupational diseases,
  • monitoring the safety and health aspects of work,
  • coordination of evacuation and intervention activities in case of need.
  • risk assessment regarding the safety and health of the employees,
  • elaboration of a plan and of the prevention and protection instructions, according to the particularities of the activity carried out;
  • elaboration of own instructions for applying the SSM in norms according to the particularities of the work processes in the organization, 
  • Verification of the way in which the legal regulations in force and the rules regarding the prevention of fire risks, the protection of the employees' health and the protection of the environment are applied;
  • represents the company during the inspections by the authorities;
  • collaboration with external service of SSM 
  • coordinate the CSSM meetings
